Packaging & Appearance: This bottle comes in a big aqua coloured box which has all the information and details about this product, at the front, at the back, and inside the box. As you open the box, there you see a colour coordinated bottle inside and some more information on the box itself. The packaging is almost similar for all the Dot & Key Serums.
The serum comes packaged in an aqua coloured plastic bottle with a big white dropper on top of it. I found the dropper to be a little flimsy of this particular serum, the product does not dispense easily out of it for some reason, or maybe unluckily it was the case with my bottle only, I’m not sure since I’ve not used another bottle of this serum, but mine was definitely flimsy and getting the dropper to dispense to product was quite a task at times. Otherwise the packaging is pretty convenient, efficient, and practical.
Contents & Features of the product: Let’s read about the ingredients of this serum now.
Bulgarian Rose: It’s anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory elements help in soothing and calming sensitive, irritated skin. It also helps in skin tightening & prevents early ageing signs.
Vitamin C: This hyaluronic acid serum for face is infused with vitamin C and antioxidants that fight free radicals and environmental aggressors. It also heals damaged skin, promoting skin regeneration.
Acai Berry: Loaded with antioxidants & vitamin A, C and E, Acai Berries are known to heal damaged skin and promote cell regeneration. It restores moisture and prevents premature aging leaving skin youthful and rejuvenated.
Texture and consistency: The texture of this serum is very lightweight and gets absorbed into the skin immediately. It surely makes your skin feel smooth as soon as you apply it, and it leaves no greasiness or stickiness or any any kind of texture behind. It straight up gets absorbed and makes your skin feel smooth and plump.
The consistency of this serum is neither too runny nor too watery. It somewhat feels like watery thin yet jelly like which gets absorbed into your skin within seconds.
It has some fragrance, just like all other Dot & Key products, which is honestly not necessary. But anyways, it smells very aquatic, pleasant and fresh, if you like fragrance in your skincare.
Effects & Experience: The first thing that anyone will probably notice about this serum is how quickly it gets absorbed into your skin, it takes almost no time in getting completely absorbed into your skin, no matter whether you are a dry skin or an oily skin type, your skin straight up drinks this serum. It does not feel sticky, greasy or anything. It immediately makes your skin feel smooth, and I also feel that it temporarily blurs out your pores as well.
In my opinion, it is a very versatile serum, almost every skin type can use this serum if you are looking for a hyaluronic concentrate serum to give your skin some hydration. If you are an oily skin type, and if you’re looking for something that doesn’t add to the oiliness or leaves any kind of texture behind, then you’ll probably love this one. If you are a dry skin type, you might want to layer it up with a moisturizer (which everyone anyways should), for that extra moisture, if you like your skin to have a layer of that ‘moisturizer glow’, since your dry skin will just drink this up. It is honestly good for sensitive and acne prone skin too, as long as you don’t have an issue with scented skincare.
So I have used the entire bottle and yes I did feel that it helps in giving your skin that extra layer of hydration without making it feel greasy or oily at all. But I always layered it up with a hydrating moisturizer to seal the moisture into my skin. And if you’re using this during winters, then a layer of a good moisturizer after applying this serum is a must.
It does not tingle or irritates your skin at all. You can use it in the morning as well as at night. It is a decent serum, especially good for oily skin, if you’re looking to give your skin that extra boost of hydration without leaving your skin greasy or tacky.
- Extremely lightweight on the skin
- Suitable for all skin types. Great for oily skin type.
- Has Vitamin C as an antioxidant
- Makes your skin smooth and soft
- Gives a decent amount of hydration to the skin
- Formulated with natural botanicals
- Dermatologically tested
- The dropper is a bit flimsy of this particular serum, in my opinion.
- If you are allergic to strong fragrances, scents, even the pleasant ones, this might be a bit strong for you in terms of scent.
Conclusion: This is a decent hyaluronic serum, if you are looking to give your skin a decent amount of hydration. It suits all skin types, but will work the best for oily skin, since it absorbs into the skin and leaves no greasiness behind. It is mostly made of natural botanicals, so that is great. But If you have dry or combination or any skin type for that matter, I highly recommend layering this serum with a hydrating moisturizer, especially during winters, since it absorbs into the skin instantly and it almost feels like you have nothing on your skin.
In my opinion, Dot & Key’s Hyaluronic Serum Concentrate is a decent buy, if you do not want anything heavy on your skin and still want that extra boost of hydration, this is a good purchase.
