Forest Essentials Sun Fluid Tender Coconut Water with Turmeric & Basil Leaf SPF 50|PA++ [Review]
Product: Forest Essentials Sun Fluid Tender Coconut Water with Turmeric & Basil Leaf SPF 50|PA++
Price: INR 975 for 50ml
About the product: A sunscreen that has the lightest texture for intensive sun protection. Forest Essentials Sun Fluid with SPF 50|PA++ uses the most organic form of sun care available in nature- Tender Coconut Water. Our sheer fluid formulation evenly distributes a thin veil of luminosity over the skin. A blend of hydrating and nourishing ingredients is infused with naturally derived SPF, Yashada Bhasma (Zinc Oxide) that adds to the intensity of the sun protection. Basil leaf infusions protect the skin from environmental stressors, making it perfect for daily application.
How to Use: Apply as a last step of your skin care routine after your moisturizing cream, during the day time. Blend a few drops evenly, over the entire face. The sun fluid should be applied before you apply makeup. Use 10-15 minutes before sun exposure.
Packaging & Appearance: The product comes packaged in a dark brown-ish glass bottle, with a pump dispenser along with a sturdy protector for the pump, to avoid any leakage or anything of that sort while travelling, which is great. Product’s name along with all the details are mentioned at the front and the back of the bottle. I really like the packaging, it is sturdy, convenient to use, and travel-friendly.
Contents & Features of the product: Now let’s read the ingredient list of this product and what makes it so interesting.
It has Basil: Also known as Tulsi in Ayurveda, Basil promotes purity and youthfulness. Its fragrance is wonderfully refreshing and de-stressing.
It has Aloe Vera: Has strong soothing, hydrating and moisture retaining properties. Stimulates regeneration of the skin.
It has Yashad Bhasma (Zinc Oxide): A natural, effective and safe form of SPF, Yashad Bhasma is prepared by finely processing pure Zinc metal with Aloe Vera juice, as per Ayurvedic texts.
It has Tender Coconut Water: Enriched with Vitamin C, it reduces pigmentation and blemishes on the skin.
It also has Sweet Almond Oil, Turmeric Extract, Cucumber Extract, Neem Leaf Extract, Sweet Fennel Seed Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Green Tea Extract and Tulsi Leaf Extract, to name the other major ingredients in the product.
Texture of the product: Now what makes this sunscreen stand out from a lot of sunscreens available in the market is its lightweight texture. It is similar to a milky lotion which makes the application dreamlike. The texture is creamy and very easy to spread and blend in. Unlike a lot of sunscreens, the product goes on sheer on the skin and doesn’t leave a white cast at all, thanks to the micronized Zinc Oxide in the product. In fact, your skin seems very glow-y after application, which is majorly due to the hydrating combination of several oils and Hyaluronic acid present in the formula of this sunscreen.
And oh, another interesting thing about this product is its fragrance. I have never used or have come across a sunscreen that smells as pleasant as this one. I am not even exaggerating, the fragrance is so amazing that you will just want to apply this for its fragrance. It is not a strong fragrance if you’re sensitive to fragrances, also it lingers only for a couple of minutes and it fades away. I also understand that not a lot of people prefer fragrances in their skincare, and that’s the way it should be, you do not essentially need perfume in your skincare. I do not like it too if the smell is extremely strong or if it smells perfume-like, in my skincare, then it of course starts bothering me. But with this product, its ingredient list, formulation, its fragrance and especially my experience with it, are reasons enough for me to have a positive opinion overall.
Effects & Experience: I have adored this sunscreen from the moment I have applied it on my face the first time. It has a very lightweight, and milky fluid-like texture which goes on so smoothly on your skin and blends like magic without leaving any kind of white cast on your face. It also gives a sheer glow to the skin due to the hydrating components present in the product. It has a SPF 50 with PA++ which is great to protect your skin from UV rays, but what makes this product more likeable is while it protects you from the sun, it deeply hydrates your skin and keeps it moisturised very well. This product has also been awarded recently as "Best of Skincare" at the Vogue Beauty Festival 2020.
This product is very well suited to use especially in winters because of how moisturising it is and when your skin needs that little extra moisture. A great product for dry to normal and combination skin type. I am not sure about how this will sit on oily skin, as it might just make it oily skin feel greasy and heavy. It is not an inexpensive sunscreen so I would not suggest this product to people with oily skin. It is also safe for sensitive skin type, it does not irritate the skin at all. Also, if you are applying this before makeup, let it sit for a 10 minutes at least, so that the product is absorbed and your makeup goes on hassle-free.
I personally love using this sunscreen for multiple reasons. I like how it makes my skin look dewy and very well moisturised, protects my skin from sun damage and has great ingredients that targets multiple skin concerns. Also, I have been using this for more than 6 months now and I’m only half way through the bottle. You only need half a pump of this, and it’s more than enough. This bottle will last you for months.

Conclusion: I do not have a lot of favourites in the sunscreen category yet, but this one here has definitely become a favorite. I love using it for its milky lightweight texture that blends like magic, and does not leave any white cast behind. I love how it makes my skin look dewy and moisturised. Brownie points to the brand for the selection of ingredients to make this sunscreen stand out from a lot of sunscreens in the market. Has a heavenly fragrance, which just makes you want to use it so much more. Suitable for normal, dry and combination skin type. Would not suggest it to people with oily skin. A great sunscreen for winters.
It might seem expensive to a lot of people, but like I say for this brand, Forest Essentials not only gives you quality but it also gives you an experience. And practically, this bottle has lasted me for more 6 months now, which I think is incredible for the price I paid. So, overall I adore this product from FE and there is nothing that I dislike about this product.
I highly recommend Forest Essentials Sun Fluid Tender Coconut Water with Turmeric & Basil Leaf SPF 50|PA++, if you’re looking for a good sunscreen to invest in.
